BSNL joins nationwide strike for revised wage.

Agartala July 27,2017: The telecom firm BSNL Tripura today has joined the nationwide day-long cease work  in support of revision of pay and pension.

The employees under the joint forum (Union and Association) extended support to the strike.

Besides wage hike, their demands include implementation of pension system on basis of real basic pay, due wage revision to be implemented from January 1, 2017 and few others.

“BSNL came under loss due to the government’s anti-BSNL policies. The employees got last revised pay ten years ago. The union government had approved recommendation of third pay revision committee; the BSNL was not included in the Public Sector Undertakings’ list. We demand pay revision for the BSNL employees from January 1, 2017,” said Tirthankar chowdhury, convener of Union and Association of BSNL.
